ABSTRACT: The role of vocational training in supporting the Internet of Things (IoT) is crucial for developing a skilled workforce capable of leveraging IoT technologies. This study aimed to evaluate how vocational training programs contribute to IoT education, identify the specific skills and competencies developed, and assess the overall satisfaction of participants with the training programs. A survey design was chosen to gather comprehensive data from participants involved in IoT vocational training. The sample size comprised 180 students from various vocational institutions. Purposive sampling was employed to select participants with relevant experience in IoT education. The case study was conducted at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that vocational training significantly enhanced students' technical skills in IoT device management, improved their understanding of IoT ecosystems, and increased their ability to develop and deploy IoT solutions. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with the curriculum, noting its relevance and practical applications. It was recommended that vocational training institutions expand their IoT programs, incorporate more hands-on training modules, and foster collaborations with industry stakeholders to ensure the curriculum remains up-to-date and impactful.
